Related Themes: Agni Purana 56 (pratiṣṭhā details: torana, stambha, dhvaja, cakra placement)
It prescribes a practical installation protocol: set the structure to a five-hasta measure, invoke the Earth with the “syonā pṛthvī” mantra, and place kalaśas with auspicious sprouts at the base of the gateway pillars to stabilize and sanctify the site.
It preserves applied knowledge from Vastu/Pratiṣṭhā traditions—covering measurement standards, mantra-based sanctification, and material ritual placements—showing the Agni Purana’s breadth beyond mythology into technical liturgy and sacred architecture.
Invoking the Earth as auspicious and installing kalaśas with sprouts ritually “grounds” the work, seeking prosperity, obstacle-removal, and successful completion, while treating construction as a sanctified act rather than merely physical building.
