Concept: Mantra-saṃskāra of dravya: substances become ‘charged’ through japa and then act as carriers of intended karmaphala when applied at the locus (house/head).

Application: Prepare cūrṇa, perform japa over it, then kṣepa (casting) either into the dwelling or onto the person’s head depending on access.

FAQs

It teaches an utsādana-prayoga: preparing a powdered mixture (ash plus specified herbs), empowering it through mantra-japa, and casting it on a target’s head or into their house to effect repulsion/expulsion.

Beyond theology, it preserves applied ritual technology—specific materials, preparation method, and deployment—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical mantra-tantra procedures alongside other sciences.

It frames mantra-empowered substances as instruments for removing hostile influences; the act is presented as a targeted ritual intervention (protective/expulsive), implying mantra-śakti directed toward altering adverse conditions.
