It teaches a practical dharma-vidyā principle: in the face of inevitable death, one should actively undertake Dharma as one’s support, with devotion to Hari as the sure giver of both worldly welfare (bhukti) and liberation (mukti).
Alongside ritual, polity, and other sciences, the Agni Purāṇa also preserves mokṣa-dharma counsel—summarizing ethics and soteriology by linking right conduct (dharma) with the ultimate theological center (Hari as bestower of fruits).
It frames Dharma as the decisive refuge when life is transient: aligning action with Dharma and Hari-oriented devotion is presented as the reliable cause of auspicious karmic results, culminating in liberation.
