Related Themes: Agni Purana 151.3–151.5 (enumeration of conduct virtues)
It signals a dharma-śāstra framework: after varṇāśrama duties, the text will present additional universal observances (smṛti-based rules) aimed at propitiating Vāsudeva and other deities.
It shows the Purana functioning like a compendium—integrating smṛti authorities (Manu and others) into its multi-topic coverage, moving from social-religious order (varṇāśrama) to broader, general dharma categories.
The stated aim is devatā-tuṣṭi—actions aligned with dharma are framed as producing divine satisfaction, implying merit (puṇya) and spiritual purification through compliant conduct and worship-oriented observance.
