इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे ग्रहहृन्मन्त्रादिकं नाम नवनवत्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ त्रिशततमो ऽध्यायः सूर्यार्चनम् अग्निर् उवाच शय्या तु दण्डिसाजेशपावकश् चतुराननः सर्वार्थसाधकमिदं वीजं पिण्डार्थमुच्यते
ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe grahahṛnmantrādikaṃ nāma navanavatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha triśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ sūryārcanam agnir uvāca śayyā tu daṇḍisājeśapāvakaś caturānanaḥ sarvārthasādhakamidaṃ vījaṃ piṇḍārthamucyate
Demikianlah dalam Agni Mahāpurāṇa berakhir bab ke-299 yang bertajuk “Mantra-mantra Grahahṛn dan yang berkaitan (dengan upacara)”. Kini bermula bab ke-300: “Pemujaan Sūrya”. Agni bersabda: “Bagi pemujaan ini, bīja-mantra—‘śayyā, daṇḍi, sājeśa, pāvaka, caturānana’—diajarkan sebagai ‘piṇḍa’ (rumusan padat) dan berkuasa menyempurnakan segala tujuan.”
