Concept: Order and measurability of the body (pramāṇa) as a basis for correct knowledge and correct application (medical/ritual/artistic).
Application: Standardize measurement to reduce error in diagnosis, therapeutic point-location, and ideal-form visualization.

Verse contains apparent पाठभेद/पाठदोष markers ‘ख’ and uncertain segment ‘वरतन्मत्रे’.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 294 (śarīra-pramāṇa and dhyāna-lakṣaṇa context)
It gives a technical anthropometric rule: using a two-aṅgula standard to identify/mark bodily segment-joints (parva) and describes idealized bodily radiance/complexion features by region.
Beyond theology, it preserves śāstric body-science—measurement standards (aṅgula-pramāṇa), anatomical segmentation, and physiognomic descriptors—showing the Purāṇa’s compendium-like coverage of applied knowledge.
Correct body-measure and ideal-form descriptions support disciplined self-cultivation and accurate application in allied practices (iconometry, ritual visualization, and traditional diagnostics), which are treated as aids to purity and right practice.
