Related Themes: Agni Purana 288 (nidāgha regimen; symptom-based addenda)
Ayurvedic therapeutics: it gives a seasonal instruction (summer use of jaggery-mixed liquor as a corrective drink) and a specific herbal combination for vedhanā (piercing pain), naming lodhra, salt, pippalī, and viśvabheṣaja (commonly dry ginger).
It exemplifies the Purana’s inclusion of practical medical guidance—seasonal regimen and materia medica—alongside its religious narratives, showing that the Agni Purana functions as a compendium spanning health science (Ayurveda) and daily-life applications.
By promoting regulated consumption and corrective remedies, the verse supports bodily balance (sattva and health), which traditional dharma literature treats as a foundation for disciplined living, ritual competence, and the avoidance of harmful excess.
