Ayurvedic pediatric therapeutics: it prescribes a kvātha (decoction) of siṃhī, śaṭī, niśā-yugma (turmeric pair), and vatsaka (kutaja) for infantile diarrhoea and disorders caused by vitiated breast milk.
It shifts from Vṛkṣāyurveda into practical Ayurveda by listing specific medicinal drugs and a formulation method (kvātha), showing the text’s scope beyond theology into applied medical knowledge and pharmacology.
While primarily medical, the Purāṇic framing treats healing and protection of infants as dharmic care (rakṣaṇa), aligning practical therapy with the merit of preserving life and reducing suffering.
