FAQs

It gives a procedural rule for ritual construction/installation: do not disturb the consecrated kumbhas, install deities through iṣṭakā placement with directional order (Īśāna etc.), and commence brick-laying from the east.

Beyond mythology, it preserves a practical ritual-technical manual: precise do’s and don’ts for consecrated objects (kumbha), spatial theology (directional deities), and stepwise construction (brick-laying order), reflecting the Purāṇa’s coverage of applied liturgy and vastu.

Not moving consecrated kumbhas and laying bricks in the prescribed directional sequence is treated as maintaining ritual purity and correct deity-invocation, ensuring the rite’s efficacy and avoiding doṣa (ritual fault).
