Related Themes: Agni Purana 41 (Pūjā-vidhi: homa-prayoga sections); Agni Purana homa/śānti/prāyaścitta prakaraṇas (general)
It prescribes the homa sequence: perform the two āghāra and two ājya-bhāga offerings with Oṃ, then offer eight ghee oblations using the vyāhṛti formulas in correct order.
It functions as a procedural manual for Vedic-style fire worship, showing the text’s coverage of precise liturgical technology alongside its many other domains (dharma, polity, medicine, arts).
Correctly ordered āhutis with praṇava and vyāhṛtis are held to purify the rite, align it with cosmic realms (bhūḥ-bhuvaḥ-svaḥ), and secure the intended merit (puṇya) of the homa.
