Concept: Inner appropriation (hṛdaya-dhāraṇa) and sincerity can validate practice amid human error; dharma includes compassionate handling of inadvertence.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 36 (pavitra usage, kṣamā, completion formulas)
It teaches hṛdaya-pūjā (internalized worship): the worshipper should mentally retain the pavitra (purificatory sacred thread) and the act of pūjā as an inner rite, emphasizing regulated worship (niyamārcana).
By preserving practical liturgical detail—how to treat ritual implements like the pavitra and how to frame worship as both external action and internal discipline—this chapter exemplifies the Agni Purana’s manual-like coverage of pūjā-vidhi alongside its many other sciences.
It underscores that worship performed under niyama retains purificatory value even if done without full intentionality, and that internal devotion (carrying it in the heart) stabilizes the merit and sanctity of the rite.
