FAQs

It states a procedural rule: immediate perfuming/deodorizing may be allowed for certain groups, but the act must be accompanied by the gandha-pavitraka—indicating ritualized, sanctified fragrance as part of purity discipline.

Beyond theology, it preserves practical norms of shauca (cleanliness), social categories, and ritual objects (pavitraka), showing how daily hygiene and scent are integrated into formal worship-regulations.

It frames fragrance practices as spiritually regulated: purity is maintained not merely by pleasant scent, but by sanctified means (pavitraka), aligning bodily conduct with ritual merit and protective purity.
