सरस्वतीति वै लोके वर्तते नाम सांप्रतम् । अतीतं नाम यत्तस्याः कमंडलुभवेति च । रत्नाकरेति सामुद्रं सत्यं नामांतरं पुरा
sarasvatīti vai loke vartate nāma sāṃpratam | atītaṃ nāma yattasyāḥ kamaṃḍalubhaveti ca | ratnākareti sāmudraṃ satyaṃ nāmāṃtaraṃ purā
सध्या लोकांत ती ‘सरस्वती’ या नावाने वर्तते. तिचे पूर्वीचे नाव ‘कमंडलुभवा’ होते, आणि प्राचीन काळी समुद्राशी संबंधित तिचे सत्य नामांतर ‘रत्नाकर’ असे होते.
