वृद्धौ हर्षमवाप्नोति क्षये भवति दुःखितः । इत्येषा लौकिकी गाथा तत्ते दैत्य विपर्ययः
vṛddhau harṣamavāpnoti kṣaye bhavati duḥkhitaḥ | ityeṣā laukikī gāthā tatte daitya viparyayaḥ
“वृद्धीत हर्ष होतो, क्षयात दुःख होते”—ही लोकांची म्हण; पण हे दैत्य, तुझ्या बाबतीत मात्र उलट आहे.
