दिनमाना निशा ज्ञेया अहोरात्रं द्वयाद्भवेत् । तैः पंचदशभिः पक्षो द्विपक्षो मास उच्यते
dinamānā niśā jñeyā ahorātraṃ dvayādbhavet | taiḥ paṃcadaśabhiḥ pakṣo dvipakṣo māsa ucyate
रात्रीचे मान दिवसाइतकेच समजावे; या दोहोंपासून अहोरात्र होते. अशा पंधरा (दिवसांनी) पक्ष होतो; आणि दोन पक्षांना मास म्हणतात.
