द्वितीयमासस्यादौ तु प्रतिपद्या प्रकीर्तिता । वाराहेणोद्धृता तस्यां तथा चादौ धरा प्रिये । तेन वाराहकल्पेति नाम जातं धरातले
dvitīyamāsasyādau tu pratipadyā prakīrtitā | vārāheṇoddhṛtā tasyāṃ tathā cādau dharā priye | tena vārāhakalpeti nāma jātaṃ dharātale
दुसऱ्या मासाच्या आरंभी ‘प्रतिपदा’ प्रसिद्ध आहे; त्याच दिवशी, हे प्रिये, आदिकाळी वाराहाने धरा उचलून उद्धार केला. म्हणून धरातलावर त्याचे नाव ‘वाराहकल्प’ झाले.
