ईश्वर उवाच अथ मेरोर्महादेवि अष्टशृंगस्य सुव्रते । पूजाविधानमंत्रांस्ते कथयामि समासतः
īśvara uvāca atha merormahādevi aṣṭaśṛṃgasya suvrate | pūjāvidhānamaṃtrāṃste kathayāmi samāsataḥ
ईश्वर म्हणाले—हे महादेवी, हे सुव्रते! आता मेरूच्या अष्टशृंग (आठ शिखर) रूपाची पूजाविधी व मंत्र मी तुला संक्षेपाने सांगतो।
