एवं देवि तदा जातः क्षुधाक्रान्तो बभाष माम् । अतोऽहं क्षुधितं दृष्ट्वा वरं हीमं च दत्तवान्
evaṃ devi tadā jātaḥ kṣudhākrānto babhāṣa mām | ato'haṃ kṣudhitaṃ dṛṣṭvā varaṃ hīmaṃ ca dattavān
अशा रीतीने, हे देवि, तो उत्पन्न होताच क्षुधेने व्याकुळ होऊन मला बोलला. म्हणून त्याला भुकेला पाहून मी त्याला योग्य व भयंकर असा वर दिला.
