मासेन पूर्वजातिं च जन्मातीतं च वेत्स्यति । एकरात्रात्तनुं शुद्धां द्वाभ्यां तारयते पितॄन् । त्रिरात्रेण व्यतीतेन त्वपरान्सप्त तारयेत्
māsena pūrvajātiṃ ca janmātītaṃ ca vetsyati | ekarātrāttanuṃ śuddhāṃ dvābhyāṃ tārayate pitṝn | trirātreṇa vyatītena tvaparānsapta tārayet
एक महिन्यात तो पूर्वजन्म व जन्मातीत तत्त्व जाणतो. एका रात्रीत देह शुद्ध होते; दोन रात्रींत पितरांचा उद्धार होतो; आणि तीन रात्री झाल्यावर तो आणखी सात पूर्वजांनाही तारतो.
