asminmanvantare kṣiptaḥ sāgaraiśca caturdiśam | tasyedaṃ kīrtitaṃ devi nāma sāgarasaṃjñitam
हे देवी, या मन्वंतरात तो चारही दिशांना सागरांनी क्षिप्त होऊन पसरला; म्हणून हे स्थान ‘सागर’ या नावाने कीर्तित आहे।
