ईश्वर उवाच । या संज्ञा सा स्मृता राज्ञी छाया या सा तु निक्षुभा । राजृ दीप्तौ स्मृतो धातू राजा राजति यः सदा
īśvara uvāca | yā saṃjñā sā smṛtā rājñī chāyā yā sā tu nikṣubhā | rājṛ dīptau smṛto dhātū rājā rājati yaḥ sadā
ईश्वर म्हणाले— जी संज्ञा ती ‘राज्ञी’ म्हणून स्मरली जाते; आणि जी छाया ती ‘निक्षुभा’ म्हणून ओळखली जाते. ‘राजृ’ धातूचा अर्थ ‘दीप्त होणे’ असा आहे; म्हणून जो सदा तेजस्वी असतो तो ‘राजा’ म्हणतात।
