युद्धात दानवांचा संहार करून विष्णूंनी सुंदर झऱ्यात स्नान केले आणि तेथेच त्या जलाने प्रक्षालन केले; त्यामुळे ते जल मेध्यता म्हणजेच पवित्रता प्राप्त झाले।
