śrīnārada uvāca | sāṃprataṃ dharaṇī prāptā caturvaktrasya saṃnidhau | rorūyamāṇā bhārārtā dānavaiḥ pīḍitā bhṛśam | provāca padmajaṃ tatra duḥkhena mahatā'nvitā
Nārada
Scene: Earth personified (Bhū-devī) arrives before four-faced Brahmā, crying and weighed down, describing torment by daṇavas; Nārada narrates the scene.
When adharma increases, even the Earth is depicted as suffering; divine intervention is sought through rightful cosmic authorities.
No particular tīrtha is mentioned in this verse; it sets up a wider mythic cause within the māhātmya.
None; it is a narrative account describing the Earth’s appeal.
