पितामहमुखान्दृष्ट्वा देवान्प्राप्तान्सुराधिपः । पराङ्मुखानकस्माच्च संजातान्विस्मयान्वितः । ततः प्रोवाच संभ्रांतः किमिदं गम्यते सुराः । दृष्ट्वापि मामनाभाष्य कच्चित्क्षेमं गृहे मम
pitāmahamukhāndṛṣṭvā devānprāptānsurādhipaḥ | parāṅmukhānakasmācca saṃjātānvismayānvitaḥ | tataḥ provāca saṃbhrāṃtaḥ kimidaṃ gamyate surāḥ | dṛṣṭvāpi māmanābhāṣya kaccitkṣemaṃ gṛhe mama
पितामह ब्रह्माच्या अग्रभागी आलेले देव पाहून देवाधिपती इंद्र विस्मित झाला; कारण ते अकस्मात् मुख फिरवून पराङ्मुख झाले. तेव्हा तो संभ्रमित होऊन म्हणाला—“हे देवहो, हे काय? तुम्ही का निघून जाता? मला पाहूनही बोलत नाही; माझ्या गृही सर्व कुशल आहे ना?”
