विश्वामित्र उवाच । यदि तुष्टोसि देवेश यदि देयो वरो मम । तन्मे स्यात्सृष्टिमाहात्म्यं त्वत्प्रसादान्महेश्वर
viśvāmitra uvāca | yadi tuṣṭosi deveśa yadi deyo varo mama | tanme syātsṛṣṭimāhātmyaṃ tvatprasādānmaheśvara
विश्वामित्र म्हणाला—हे देवेश! तू प्रसन्न असशील आणि मला वर द्यावयाचा असेल, तर हे महेश्वर! तुझ्या कृपेने मला सृष्टीच्या माहात्म्याचे पावन वर्णन प्राप्त होवो.
