स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय शापाद्भीतो नगोत्तमः । न जगाम पुनर्वृद्धिं तस्यागमनवांछया
sa tatheti pratijñāya śāpādbhīto nagottamaḥ | na jagāma punarvṛddhiṃ tasyāgamanavāṃchayā
नगोत्तमाने “तथेच” अशी प्रतिज्ञा केली; शापभयाने आणि त्याच्या (अगस्त्याच्या) आगमनाची इच्छा धरून तो पुन्हा वाढला नाही।
