प्राप्तो महेश्वरस्तस्य कोऽपि तत्र धनी द्रुतम् । तेनोक्तं प्रणिपत्योच्चैः करिष्यामि पवित्रकम्
prāpto maheśvarastasya ko'pi tatra dhanī drutam | tenoktaṃ praṇipatyoccaiḥ kariṣyāmi pavitrakam
तेव्हा एक धनवान पुरुष त्वरेने तेथे महेश्वर (शिव) यांच्याकडे आला. साष्टांग नमस्कार करून तो उच्च स्वरात म्हणाला— “मी पवित्रक-व्रत करीन.”
