sarvadānakratubhavaṃ puṇyaṃ bhavati yogataḥ | yogātsakalakāmāptirna yogādbhuvi prāpyate
Śiva (deduced from continuity of instruction in the same adhyāya addressed to Devī/Pārvatī)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pārvatī/Devī
Scene: A cosmic balance scale: on one side heaps of ritual items (gold, cows, soma vessels, sacrificial posts), on the other a single meditating yogin radiating light outweighs them; above, subtle deities witness in wonder.
Yoga is extolled as a comprehensive dharmic practice that generates immense merit and enables attainment of human goals, ultimately supporting liberation.
The verse occurs in a Nāgarakhaṇḍa tīrtha-māhātmya chapter, but this line does not name the tīrtha explicitly.
Traditional rites (dāna/kratu) are referenced for comparison; the implied prescription is to practice yoga as an overarching discipline.
