ऋषय ऊचुः । सूत सूत महाभाग श्रोतुमिच्छामहे वयम् । चातुर्मास्यव्रतानां हि त्वत्तो माहात्म्यविस्तरम्
ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | sūta sūta mahābhāga śrotumicchāmahe vayam | cāturmāsyavratānāṃ hi tvatto māhātmyavistaram
ऋषी म्हणाले—हे सूत, हे महाभाग! आम्हांस चातुर्मास्य व्रतांचे माहात्म्य तुझ्याकडून सविस्तर ऐकावयाचे आहे।
