अमावास्यादिने प्राप्ते गृहद्वारं समाश्रिता । वायुभूताः प्रवांछन्ति श्राद्धं पितृगणा नृणाम् । यावदस्तमयं भानोः क्षुत्पिपासास माकुलाः
amāvāsyādine prāpte gṛhadvāraṃ samāśritā | vāyubhūtāḥ pravāṃchanti śrāddhaṃ pitṛgaṇā nṛṇām | yāvadastamayaṃ bhānoḥ kṣutpipāsāsa mākulāḥ
अमावास्येचा दिवस आला की पितृगण वायुरूप होऊन मनुष्यांच्या घरांच्या दाराशी येऊन उभे राहतात, श्राद्धाची आस धरतात; सूर्यास्तापर्यंत ते भूक-प्यासेने व्याकुळ राहतात।
