मार्कंडेय उवाच । सत्यमेतन्महाभाग यत्पृष्टोऽस्मि नृपोत्तम । श्राद्धस्य बहवो भेदाः शाखाभेदैर्व्यवस्थिताः
mārkaṃḍeya uvāca | satyametanmahābhāga yatpṛṣṭo'smi nṛpottama | śrāddhasya bahavo bhedāḥ śākhābhedairvyavasthitāḥ
मार्कंडेय म्हणाले—हे महाभाग, हे नृपोत्तम, तू मला हे विचारलेस ते खरेच योग्य आहे; श्राद्धाचे अनेक भेद वेदशाखांच्या भेदानुसार निश्चित झालेले आहेत।
