ब्राह्मणा ऊचुः पूर्वापरविरोधे नवाक्यमेतन्महामते । कथमस्ति कथं नास्ति तस्मात्त्वं वक्तुमर्हसि । विस्मयोऽयं महाञ्जातः सर्वेषां च द्विजन्मनाम्
brāhmaṇā ūcuḥ pūrvāparavirodhe navākyametanmahāmate | kathamasti kathaṃ nāsti tasmāttvaṃ vaktumarhasi | vismayo'yaṃ mahāñjātaḥ sarveṣāṃ ca dvijanmanām
ब्राह्मण म्हणाले—हे महामते! हे वचन नवे असून पूर्वापराशी विरोधी भासते. कसे आहे आणि कसे नाही? म्हणून आपण सांगावे. सर्व द्विजांमध्ये मोठा विस्मय झाला आहे.
