etasmātkāraṇāddharmyaṃ mayā tyaktaṃ dvijottamāḥ | mokṣamārgārgalā bhūtaṃ dṛṣṭvā sarpaviceṣṭitam

याच कारणामुळे, हे द्विजोत्तमांनो, मी ते ‘धर्म्य’ गृहस्थजीवन त्यागले; कारण सर्पासारखी चेष्टा पाहिली, जी मोक्षमार्गाला अडसर ठरली होती.
