सूत उवाच । आसीत्पुरा महद्वैरं विश्वामित्रवसिष्ठयोः । ब्राह्मण्यस्य कृते विप्राः प्राणान्तकरणं महत् । स सर्वैर्ब्राह्मणैः प्रोक्तो विश्वामित्रो महामुनिः
sūta uvāca | āsītpurā mahadvairaṃ viśvāmitravasiṣṭhayoḥ | brāhmaṇyasya kṛte viprāḥ prāṇāntakaraṇaṃ mahat | sa sarvairbrāhmaṇaiḥ prokto viśvāmitro mahāmuniḥ
सूत म्हणाले—पूर्वी विश्वामित्र व वसिष्ठ यांच्यात महान वैर उत्पन्न झाले. ब्राह्मण्य प्राप्तीसाठी, हे विप्रहो, त्यांनी प्राणांतिक कठोर तप केले; आणि विश्वामित्र महामुनी म्हणून सर्व ब्राह्मणांनी त्यांना मान्यता दिली।
