चलितापि पुनश्चास्याः सुपत्न्या वाक्यतः स्थिता । कियंतं चैव कालं मे कार्पण्यं महदास्थितम्
calitāpi punaścāsyāḥ supatnyā vākyataḥ sthitā | kiyaṃtaṃ caiva kālaṃ me kārpaṇyaṃ mahadāsthitam
ती (लक्ष्मी) पुन्हा निघून जाण्यास उद्यत झाली तरी, त्या सती सौतिणीच्या वचनामुळे थांबली. तेव्हा तो मनात म्हणाला—“किती काळ माझ्यावर ही मोठी दीनता व दरिद्रता टिकून राहिली आहे!”
