mama pitrā kṛteyaṃ te pratiṣṭhā rākṣasādhama | tena no hanmi te bhrātā yathā tātena śātitaḥ
Kuśa (king) (contextual, inferred from later verses mentioning ‘kuśena bhūpena’)
Scene: The hero declares ancestral authority: behind him, a faint vision/portrait of the father-king establishing a throne or granting status; in front, the rākṣasa antagonist recoils as the hero vows to strike the brother.
It highlights kṣatriya-dharma—firmness against adharma—while framing worldly power as ultimately dependent on righteous authority.
The surrounding adhyāya context moves through Setu and Rāmeśvara, anchoring the narrative in the Rāmeśvara–Setu tīrtha region.
No explicit ritual is stated in this verse; the passage is narrative, supporting the māhātmya setting of Rāmeśvara/Setu.
