श्रोता चाप्यथ वक्तारं तदा वाक्यं न रोहति । अथ यः स्वप्रियं ब्रूयाच्छ्रोतुर्वोत्सृज्ययदृतम्
śrotā cāpyatha vaktāraṃ tadā vākyaṃ na rohati | atha yaḥ svapriyaṃ brūyācchroturvotsṛjyayadṛtam
आणि श्रोता जर वक्त्याचा अवमान करील, तर वचन मनात रुजत नाही. तसेच जो स्वतःला प्रिय तेच बोले आणि श्रोत्याच्या हिताचे सत्य सोडून देईल,
