इति जपः । कुशद्वीपे कुशस्तंबो योजनानां सहस्रकः । तच्चिह्नचिह्नितं तस्मात्कुशद्वीपं ततः स्मृतम्
iti japaḥ | kuśadvīpe kuśastaṃbo yojanānāṃ sahasrakaḥ | taccihnacihnitaṃ tasmātkuśadvīpaṃ tataḥ smṛtam
हा जप आहे। कुशद्वीपात कुशगवताचा एक स्तंभ/दाट झुडूप हजार योजनांपर्यंत पसरलेला आहे; त्या चिन्हानेच चिन्हित असल्यामुळे त्यास ‘कुशद्वीप’ असे स्मरतात।
