gaṇāvūcatuḥ | guhyakānāmayaṃ lokastvete vai guhyakāḥ smṛtāḥ | nyāyenopārjya vittāni gūhayaṃti ca ye bhuvi
Śiva’s Gaṇas (two attendants)
Tirtha: Guhyaka-loka
Type: kshetra
Listener: The inquiring observer/traveler
Scene: Two gaṇas identify the realm: a prosperous assembly of guhyakas—dark, hairy, stout-faced—standing like vigilant guardians over concealed treasure mounds or sealed earthen caches, suggesting ‘hidden wealth’ kept by rightful means.
Artha (wealth) should be earned by nyāya (righteous means); one’s relationship to wealth shapes one’s post-mortem destiny.
No specific tīrtha is praised; the verse explains a class of beings and their realm within the Kāśī Khaṇḍa narrative.
No direct ritual; it upholds a dharmic norm: acquire wealth through just means and avoid unrighteous gain.
