Tirtha: Maṇināgeśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: Sage Mārkaṇḍeya instructs King Yudhiṣṭhira; in the background the Narmadā flows, and on the north bank stands a small Śiva shrine with a liṅga named Maṇināgeśvara; a nāga devotee (Maṇināga) is shown in reverent posture, suggesting the founder.
Pilgrimage to a Śiva-sthala established for public welfare is portrayed as a potent means for purification and sin-destruction.
