śrutaṃ rudrācca taiḥ sarvairahaṃ tatra samīpagaḥ īśvara uvāca | mārtaṇḍagrahaṇe prāpte ye vrajanti ṣaḍānana | ravitīrthe kurukṣetre tulyametatphalaṃ labhet
Īśvara (Śiva) — quoted speech within the narration
Tirtha: Ravitīrtha
Type: ghat
Listener: Narādhipa (king) in outer frame; Ṣaḍānana (Skanda) in quoted inner frame
Scene: A quoted divine utterance: Īśvara addresses six-faced Skanda; the sky darkens in a solar eclipse above a river-ghat where pilgrims gather for eclipse bathing.
Auspicious times (like grahaṇa) intensify tīrtha-merit; right timing and right place together magnify spiritual fruit.
Ravitīrtha, whose eclipse-time merit is declared equal to Kurukṣetra.
Pilgrimage/going to Ravitīrtha at the time of a solar eclipse (mārtaṇḍa-grahaṇa) to gain Kurukṣetra-equivalent merit.
