Transliteration

kathaṃ mlecchasamākīrṇo deśo'yaṃ dvijasattama | etadācakṣva māṃ brahmanmārkaṇḍeya mahāmate

हे द्विजश्रेष्ठ! हा देश म्लेच्छांनी कसा भरून गेला? हे ब्राह्मण, हे महामती मार्कण्डेय, हे मला सांगावे।
