मर्दयित्वा करौ पूर्वं विष्णुर्दैत्यजिघांसया । चक्रं जग्राह तत्रैव स्वेदाज्जाता सरिद्वरा
mardayitvā karau pūrvaṃ viṣṇurdaityajighāṃsayā | cakraṃ jagrāha tatraiva svedājjātā saridvarā
प्रथम करद्वय मर्दून, दैत्यवधाच्या संकल्पाने विष्णूंनी तेथेच चक्र धारण केले; आणि त्यांच्या स्वेदातून ती श्रेष्ठ नदी उत्पन्न झाली।
