श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । तदाप्रभृति तत्तीर्थं ख्यातिं प्राप्तं पितामहात् । सर्वपापहरं पुण्यं सर्वतीर्थेष्वनुत्तमम्
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tadāprabhṛti tattīrthaṃ khyātiṃ prāptaṃ pitāmahāt | sarvapāpaharaṃ puṇyaṃ sarvatīrtheṣvanuttamam
श्री मार्कण्डेय म्हणाले—त्या वेळेपासून पितामह (ब्रह्मा) यांच्या कृपेने ते तीर्थ प्रसिद्ध झाले. ते परम पुण्यदायक, सर्व पापांचे हरण करणारे आणि सर्व तीर्थांत अनुत्तम आहे.
