मार्कण्डेय उवाच । स्नानदानपरो यस्तु नित्यं धर्ममनुव्रतः । नर्मदातीरमाश्रित्य मुच्यते सर्वपातकैः
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | snānadānaparo yastu nityaṃ dharmamanuvrataḥ | narmadātīramāśritya mucyate sarvapātakaiḥ
मार्कंडेय म्हणाले: जो मनुष्य नर्मदा तीराचा आश्रय घेऊन नित्य स्नान व दानामध्ये तत्पर असतो आणि धर्माचे पालन करतो, तो सर्व पापांपासून मुक्त होतो.
