नाशयतु दुरितमखिलं भूतं भव्यं भवच्च भुवि भविनाम् । सकलपवित्रि तव सुधा पुण्यजला नर्मदा भवति

nāśayatu duritamakhilaṃ bhūtaṃ bhavyaṃ bhavacca bhuvi bhavinām | sakalapavitri tava sudhā puṇyajalā narmadā bhavati

पृथ्वीवरील जीवांचे भूत, भविष्य आणि वर्तमान—या तिन्ही काळांतील सर्व दुरित (पाप) ती नष्ट करो। हे सर्वपवित्रे! तुझी अमृततुल्य सुधा हीच पुण्यजलरूप नर्मदा होते.
