प्रवृत्तिः सर्वशास्त्राणां पुराणस्याभवत्ततः । कालेनाग्रहणं दृष्ट्वा पुराणस्य ततो मुनिः
pravṛttiḥ sarvaśāstrāṇāṃ purāṇasyābhavattataḥ | kālenāgrahaṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā purāṇasya tato muniḥ
त्या पुराणापासूनच सर्व शास्त्रांची प्रवृत्ती व विस्तार झाला. पुढे काळाच्या ओघात पुराण नीट ग्रहण होत नाही असे पाहून मुनींनी त्याच्या रक्षणासाठी उपाय केला.
