vedopavedavedāṅgādīnyabhivyasya pūritaḥ | aṣṭādaśapurāṇānāṃ vaktā satyavatīsutaḥ

वेद, उपवेद, वेदाङ्ग इत्यादींचे पूर्ण प्रतिपादन करून सत्यवतीसुत (व्यास) अठरा पुराणांचे प्रवक्ता झाले।
