It affirms that spiritual authority and social honour arise from śruti-based learning, proper dīkṣā, and disciplined yajña—outer dharma supporting inner purity that ripens into devotion to Śiva, the supreme Pati.
By praising orthodox initiation and sacrificial discipline, the verse frames a dharmic foundation from which Saguna Śiva-upāsanā (including Liṅga worship) becomes steady and efficacious—ritual order culminating in focused bhakti.
It points to dīkṣā (initiation) and faithful performance of prescribed rites; for a Shaiva practitioner, the practical takeaway is disciplined daily worship with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) alongside purity of conduct.
