युद्धप्रारम्भवर्णनम् — Description of the Commencement of Battle
तदा च तेषां सुरदानवानां बभूव युद्धं तुमुलं जयैषिणाम् । सुखावहं वीरमनस्विनां वै भयावहं चैव तथेतरेषाम्
tadā ca teṣāṃ suradānavānāṃ babhūva yuddhaṃ tumulaṃ jayaiṣiṇām | sukhāvahaṃ vīramanasvināṃ vai bhayāvahaṃ caiva tathetareṣām
तेव्हा विजयाची इच्छा असलेल्या त्या देव व दानवांमध्ये घोर व तुमुल युद्ध माजले। वीर व दृढमनांच्या दृष्टीने ते सुखदायक, पण इतरांसाठी खरोखर भयावह होते।
